Brian Demkowicz
Brian is a seasoned investor with a successful 35+ year track record of partnering with passionate entrepreneurs to build bigger, better companies. He founded Huron Capital in 1999 with the goal of building great companies with great people through the deployment of high-impact buy-and-build investment strategies, coupled with maintaining a conservative margin of safety. The core tenets of this approach include improving profitability through operating efficiencies and accelerating growth through revenue initiatives and strategic add-ons. Since inception, Huron Capital has successfully established seven private equity funds totaling nearly $2.0 billion and invested in over 275 businesses throughout North America.
In addition to Huron, Brian supports a variety of entrepreneurial and philanthropic endeavors, providing guidance, mentorship and capital. He is actively involved with numerous industry, civic, educational and charitable organizations, including The Detroit Regional Chamber, The GreenLight Fund, The Catholic Foundation of Michigan, The Detroit Athletic Club Foundation, Lead Guitar Detroit, The Special Operators Transition Fund, and The University of Detroit Jesuit High School. In addition, Brian established the Huron Footprints program to support initiatives that will have a positive and lasting impact in the Detroit community.
Brian is an avid guitar player and once met George Harrison in an airport lounge. His experience in assessing and managing risk helped him survive bungee jumping in New Zealand and running with the bulls in Spain. He is a fitness enthusiast who enjoys participating in Triathlons and Tough Mudders. Brian has five kids, three dogs and one wife, and is a life-long Chicago Bears fan.
Brian graduated from the Krannert School of Management (now known as the Mitchell E. Daniels Jr. School of Business) at Purdue University with a B.S. in Accounting, earned an M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and is a CPA (inactive).
